STARK Group opens state-of-the-art central warehouse in Sweden

STARK Group is opening a new, large central warehouse in Sweden as part of a larger long-term investment in the company’s logistics setup. With the new central warehouse, the company can quintuple the number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) over the coming years and ensure day-to-day deliveries to construction sites and branches.

The newly established central warehouse in Eskilstuna spans 63,000 square meters, mirroring the expanse of 12 football fields, and is crucial for the company to set a new standard for efficient and sustainable delivery of building materials.

Group CEO, Søren P. Olesen says:

Logistics is an increasingly important focus area for us. By consolidating our warehouses in Sweden, we can increase our capacity from 4,000 to up to 100,000 items over the coming years. Our logistics are the backbone of our efforts to be able to service our customers now and in the future. The opening of the central warehouse in Sweden is crucial for us to ensure an efficient and flexible delivery of building materials to our branches and directly to construction sites throughout Sweden.”

The central warehouse in Sweden is built with state-of-the-art technology, including a railway track for transport into the warehouse and a fully automated warehouse system based on AutoStore, which is an innovative and automated storage and picking solution. The central warehouse will supply all the company’s 116 Swedish branches with building materials and deliver them directly to construction sites. The new warehouse also enables day-to-day delivery to almost all of Sweden.

The first deliveries from the new central warehouse will take place in April, and operations will gradually be expanded to reach full capacity in the fall of 2024.
