STARK Group expands in Sweden

STARK Group, has through its subsidiary, Beijer Byggmaterial, acquired the builders’ merchant Woody Trelleborg AB, which is currently a part of the Woody chain. With this acquisition, Beijer strengthens its network of branches to a total of 69.

“We have for a long time looked at facilities in the area and been in dialogue with the owners for quite some time. Now felt like the right time for both parties, and I’m happy to welcome 30 new colleagues to the Beijer family. The new branch complements our existing network in the region and has a strong focus on the professional craftsmen, which is in line with Beijer’s strategy,” says Geir Thomas Fossum, CEO of Beijer Byggmaterial.

Woody in Trelleborg is a family-owned company that has been run successfully since 1990. The company consists of a builders’ merchant and a distribution centre in Trelleborg. The total turnover amounts to SEK 118 million.

“I am very pleased to announce this new acquisition in Sweden and to welcome our new colleagues to STARK Group. With this acquisition, we increase our presence in an important part of Sweden, ensuring that we can continue to accommodate the Swedish builders in the best way possible,” says Søren P. Olesen, CEO of STARK Group.

The parties have chosen not to disclose the terms and price of the transaction.
