STARK Group acquires a leading German roofing and facade building material distributor, Melle Gallhöfer

STARK Group has through its German subsidiary, STARK Deutschland GmbH, signed an agreement to acquire Melle Gallhöfer, a leading German specialist distributor of roofing and facade building materials with an annual revenue of more than EUR 300 million.

The acquisition of Melle Gallhöfer is an important milestone on the continued growth journey of STARK Group. Today, STARK Deutschland is a market leading distributor of building materials, products and services for primarily professional craftsmen and the construction industry in Germany. Following the integration of over 750 new colleagues in 47 Melle Gallhöfer locations and a focused product portfolio, STARK Deutschland will become a market leader, also within roofing and facade materials through more than 250 branches and distribution centres across all of Germany.

“First and foremost, I look forward to welcoming over 750 new colleagues in Germany to the STARK Family. Melle Gallhöfer is a really good match for STARK Group in terms of the strategic focus on the professional builders, a strong corporate culture with competent and passionate employees and not least high ambitions for growth in the coming years,” says Søren P. Olesen, CEO of STARK Group.

The acquisition of Melle Gallhöfer is the latest step in STARK Group's strategy to grow the company organically as well as through acquisitions. This strategy was recently cemented, when CVC Capital Partners signed a deal to acquire STARK Group while at the same time expressing their strong support for growth.

“Therefore, I am pleased that we managed to reach an agreement so we in due course can welcome Melle Gallhöfer to our future growth journey in Germany and the rest of our markets in Northern Europe,” says Daniel R. Potok, CSO of STARK Group.

The acquisition of Melle Gallhöfer is subject to necessary authority clearances, expected in spring 2021. The parties have chosen not to disclose the terms and price of the transaction.
