STARK Group expands in Denmark

STARK Group expands through its subsidiary, STARK Danmark, by opening its first branch on the Danish island, Bornholm. In June, STARK Danmark will move into a former Optimera branch in Rønne, the largest city on the island.

The new branch in Rønne will include a store of 600 m2 and a warehouse of 2,000 m2, making the new branch larger than the former Optimera store. In the long run, both the store and warehouse will be expanded to double size.

With the establishment in Rønne, STARK Danmark continues its growth strategy. Over the past year, the builders’ merchant chain has taken over four XL-Byg stores in the South Funen area and opened four STARK Shops in Copenhagen. With the store on Bornholm, STARK Danmark will have a total of 75 branches in Denmark.

“We have been interested in establishing a branch on Bornholm for a long time. We see a growing market, of which STARK Danmark is already a part: For the past two years, we have twice a week had a truck on Bornholm with materials for our local customers. We look forward to providing them with even better service from our new branch in Rønne. The new branch fits our desire to be locally present and very close to our customers, who will benefit from the advantages of a large builders’ merchant chain like ours with a wide product range, superior logistics and professional advice,” says CEO of STARK Danmark Britta Korre Stenholt.

The new STARK branch will have a full range of products for both professional craftsmen and DIY builders. In addition, the branch will offer all of STARK's well-known services, including day-to-day delivery of  building materials.
